Daughter of a Zimbabwean mother and a British father, Thandie started her career in film in the 1991 Australian movie Flirting, which is also a launch pad of her friend and co-actress Nicole Kidman. Thandie was raised in Zambia and Perzance, Cornwall and educated at Downing College, University of Cambridge.
